Shipyard Chamberlain

Battle of The Brews #3: Round 2

The last battle received the most total votes in the short history of the Battle series. While Shipyard Export enjoyed a late surge the Geary's Faithful were able to pull out a very close victory.

Shipyard has another contender this week with their Chamberlain ale. This fine brew will be going head-to-head with Bar Harbor Real ale. Bar Harbor Real ale can be found at 3 dollar Dewey's and The Great Lost Bear. The Chamberlain can be found at Local 188, Vignola, Pizza Villa, The Empire and 3 Dollar Dewy's. Go out and try them if you haven't already. The voting will end in a week. Good luck to both Brews.

Sam Adams Noble Pils

Seasonal beers being released in January are few and far between, especially while winter brews are in full swing. The Boston Beer Co. has decided that at the end of this month winter is old news and it's time to starting thinking spring. Samuel Adams Noble Pils is a new brew to bridge that winter-summer gap, which in some cases is a dead-zone in the beer calendar. In all honesty, we here at Portlandtaps.com are helping Sam Adams launch this beer at our new monthly event, Third Thursdays held tonight(Jan 21st) at Brian Boru's. Before you all head out and spend your hard earned dollars on a new beer, we probably ought to have some info for you all before you come out tonight.

Battle of The Brews: #2 Round 2

Allagash Black defeated Sebago's Full Throttle with 62% percent of the vote. Black now stands alone as the top voted beer in the game...for now. Our next match-up is huge. Two of the flagship Maine micro brews square off in a battle of epic proportions. Shipyard's Export takes on the venerable Geary's Pale Ale. Both of these brews have been longtime staples in the Portland bar scene, and finding them will be no problem. Voting will end on Tuesday at 11am. Good luck to both competitors and may the best Beer win.
