Dancing

The Venue

The Venue Portland Maine

The Venue, now on Forest Ave. also has a location up in Freeport. This is a blues bar all the way. Expect live music acts most nights of the week and you should expect some larger acts rolling through as well. The beer is a very average line up, which I can't complain about, and the layout is very familiar.

Bubba's Sulky Lounge

The Beers you Need, The Prices you Want

"Do you know what a sulky is?"
"Uh, no, I guess I don't. I always thought it was like, sexy, sultry, sulky"

Styxx

The Beers you Need, The Prices you Want

Portland’s premier nightclub serving the gay and lesbian community has reopened at 3 Spring Street in Portland with a whole new look and a new attitude. First opened as the Underground over 30 years ago the club has been the place for gay men and lesbians to hang out dance and party.

Old Port Tavern, The

Old Port Tavern Portland Taps

The Old Port Tavern has been located on Moulton Street in the historic Mariners Church Building since 1972. This building actually houses three different parts of the OPT. The second floor has their pool hall and the third floor has a rent-able banquet room. We just focus on the basement bar that most everyone in Portland knows.

Frosty Pint, The

Frosty Pint Portland maine

The Frosty Pint is a great spot to hit after work. Great deals on beer and mixed drinks. The Owner is a Service Disabled Veteran, he came home after 13 years in the US Air Force and this bar was his dream. He used to watch Cheers as a kid with his dad and wants The Frosty Pint to have that neighborhood feel.

51 Wharf

The Beers you Need, The Prices you Want

51 Wharf has one of the largest gated patio areas on Wharf Street. Whether you want to dine for lunch or dinner, or have a drink late night, youll be right in the middle of the action in the Old Port! 51 wharf is the only place that hosts 2 DJs 2 Dance Floors and 2 genres of music every Friday and Saturday night. Also: 51 is the only club with bathroom attendants!

Flask Lounge

Flask Lounge Portland Maine

Flask Lounge is a fairly new bar on Spring street. It's a small space located right next door the the Katahdin Restaurant just off High St. I haven't been here yet, but I like the space. They are known for fun Karaoke and non traditional night out experience. They tap list while average in size is very accommodating while the happy hour specials are just down right plain.

Oasis

Oasis Portland Maine

Sometimes you just want to dance and Oasis club on Wharf st. in Portland is a place where you "get loose". The decor is reminiscent of 1960's surfploitation movies: long-boards on the walls, a tiki bar outside, and occasionally you'll find "Endless Summer" or "Thicker Than Water" playing on one of the TV's. The atmosphere itself however, is best described as almost chaotically eclectic.
