Gritty McDuff's Brewpub on Fore st. is a staple in the Old Port scene. They have a great location right across the intersection with Exchange and Fore and have a large two room pub upstairs, with a large copper topped bar. Downstairs is more cramped, but for the warmer months you can expect to sit outside of Wharf street to cool off. All their beers on tap are brewed in house. I like the Scottish Ale the best, although each major style of beer is represented. Weekends are very busy so be prepared to fight the crowds or go midweek for a more relaxed atmosphere. Gritty's offers plenty of pub style food and they promote specials on most week days.
